DAY 1 - “I Am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made”

3 Day Devotional by Concepta - Day 1

It’s still hard for me to think of myself as breathtaking. Yet I know this is exactly how God created me and how He sees me. It’s beyond our earthly understanding of how amazing He made us. No flaw, no mistake.

I used to constantly compare myself to other girl’s beauty, unaware that comparison was the thief to my joy. It caused me to be blind to the girl in the mirror. Everything about me is unique. Even with similarities to others, I am still unique. Even with what I might consider flaws, I am still unique.

The word fearfully, according to the dictionary is in part defined as extremely, exceedingly, exceptionally, remarkably, uncommonly, extraordinarily.

How else can I break that down? We are just so awesome! This reminds me of the verse, “You are altogether beautiful, my darling, there is no flaw in you.” Song of Songs 4:7

The definition of altogether is completely, totally, taking everything into consideration. When something is complete, there is no room for anything else, so if we are complete in Christ, there is no room for flaws. Everything about us, inside and out, is wonderful and beautiful.

The word fierce also comes to mind. We’ve heard this description of some women before. Even Beyonce used it as an album title. Yes, we have that fierce power of the Holy Spirit within us, that warrior, that lioness! I talk a little more about that in Day 2.

Activaton:

In your quiet time with the Lord today, ask the Holy Spirit to show you just how breathtaking you are to Him. Then take a few minutes to listen. He can’t wait to tell you.

Scriptures:

Psalm 139:14 (NIV) I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Song of Songs 4:7 You are altogether beautiful, my darling, there is no flaw in you.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV)

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1 Peter 2:9 (TPT)

9 But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.
