DAY 2 - “I Am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made”
3 Devotional by Concepta - Day 2
“Mysteriously complex…” I’m sure you’ve heard words similar to these before, “She’s complicated. It’s hard to figure her out” or something like, “I don’t know what makes her tick.” Well, that’s not too far from the truth. God didn’t create us plain and simple or plain Janes. We are intricately woven, beautifully detailed and complex, that we, ourselves can’t completely understand who we are all at once. I believe God leaves certain parts of our identity hidden until we go after it. He wants relationship and to reveal deep secrets to us, and it’s up to us to lean into Him for the answers. It’s when we hear or say things like, “I didn’t know I could do it.” Or “I had no idea I had that in me.” BOOM!, Right there is when He is revealing who we are and the potential He has given us. There’s that strength of the warrior, the lioness!
Looking back at my difficult divorce, I am in awe of the strength I had to walk it out. That strength would not have been revealed had I not gone through it. Do we all need tough times in order to learn who we are? No, but we all certainly do at some point in our lives, and it’s in those times, we can choose to see what God is revealing about who we are.
Activation:
Take a minute to reflect on times, trials, events or situations that revealed something about you. It could be strength, peace, joy or forgiveness. What is God showing you about who you are? What is He teaching you about yourself? Then pray on it and ask God to reveal more of the fearful, wonderful woman you are.
Scriptures:
Psalm 139:14 (TPT) I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!
Psalm 139:15 (ESV) My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Matthew 7:7 (TPT) Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.
Psalm 25:14 (TPT) There’s a private place reserved for the lovers of God, where they sit near him and receive the revelation-secrets of his promises.
