DAY 3 - "I Am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made"

3 Day Devotional by Concepta - Day 3

When an artist sets out to do a painting or drawing, they first envision it. They already see the picture they want to put down on canvas. They see the complete picture with all the detailed lines, beautiful colors, shapes and forms.

God had a complete vision of us before he created us. He didn’t look at a blank canvas and say, “Well, I guess I’ll see how this goes.” He knew every detail, color, line, shape and form. And when He completed us at creation, there was no need for anything else. We are complete in Him. So, when we look at ourselves as less than or insignificant, it is a lie. The masterpiece is complete.

If we took a masterpiece like the Mona Lisa and decided to redo it, or add something to it or take away from it, the artwork will no longer be The Mona Lisa. After Leonardo Di Vinci completed it, there was nothing else that needed to be done and if anything was done to it, it loses its original value, its purpose, worth and most of all, identity.

When we feel like we’re not good enough, we look elsewhere to try compensating for what we feel is missing. What we don’t realize is that we are altering our original design. We start adding or taking away from who we truly are and in turn, we start losing our identity.

Activation:

So, are we perfect? No, we are still human and we have free will. We all see flaws in ourselves, but I believe that is an invitation to go to the Lord and ask for revelation. Spend time with Him in prayer and conversation to learn about the beautiful person He created. Whatever it is you think you lack or wish you had more of, ask the Holy Spirit to show you how complete you are in Him. Allow Him to reveal His beauty in you.

Scriptures:

Psalm 139:15-16 (TPT) You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something. 16 You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book.
